Kill Reporting

I have had a few concerns about the website for kill reporting (http://zombie2009.no-ip.org/ user: zombieuser pass bates2009) so I am posting here to give a better explanation of the list. It's not made to be a formal tracker and almost nothing on it is automated, the two buttons are there to allow people to help me keep the list up to date, but the majority of the list is just me keeping track of the game. Therefore if you are having trouble with the website don't worry about your kills being null or your 36 hour time limit being in jeopardy, just post a comment somewhere on the blog (here's perfectly acceptable) or send an e-mail to bateszombiechallenge@gmail.com and the site will be updated as soon as I can get to it.

In regards to the 36 hour starvation period, this is done by the honor system, while I do have a rough idea about how long most of the zombies have been alive, for the most part I don't plan to actively enforce this rule unless it becomes a problem. Therefore you don't have to worry about making sure your kills are registered exactly right on the website.

Sign-ups for 2009

Sign-ups are now starting online, to sign up just go to http://zombie2009.no-ip.org/, the user is zombieuser and the password is bates2009. If it doesn't load initially try refreshing the page.

We are also going to be showing a zombie movie in the Ronj Sunday night, May 10th at 10:00pm to kick off the start of the game on Monday at 12:00am.

Also you can pick up your bands from the people tabeling, at the movie, or on Saturday we will leave some bands in a shoebox in the coatroom of commons if you haven't gotten yours yet.

Zombies starts Monday

That's right, short term of the living dead starts again next Monday, May 11th 2009! We are still working out all the details so be sure to check in here later in the week for sign-ups and more information. Until then get your nerf guns dusted off, your socks balled up, and and prepare yourself for the undead horde!

Sign-Up For 2009!

For this season of zombies we are hopefully going to have an automated system for sign-ups and kill reporting/tracking. Still making sure all the kinks are out of the system before putting it online, which should happen in the next few days and you will be able to find the link here. Until then if you are afraid you will forget to sign-up feel free to comment your name and e-mail here and I will add you to the system once it's online.

Humans die off...

The last surviving humans made a mad dash across campus today towards the rescue chopper. Unfortunately, the zombie infestation proved too much, and the humans were all ambushed and killed just minutes before the chopper arrival. Congratulations zombies on a well fought battle!

DOOMS DAY!! the end has come.

The World Health Organization is sending a rescue team to retrieve the surviving Humans of Bates College, ending the zombie attacks on Bates for good.

In preparation for the arrival, there will be a CEASEFIRE between zombies and humans Friday 12pm-1pm. No Zombies can tag humans, no humans can stun zombies. Humans, your objective will be to get to rescue team.

Humans meet on Hathorn Steps at 12:45 pm for your instructions for salvation!

Zombies meet at 12:45pm at Bardwell Field (grassy area next to the football field, in front of to Smith) for organized BRAINS!

More details will be explained to both groups after meeting in their respective locations.

All humans that manage to complete the mission will be survivors, anyone who does not will be left behind to the zombie horde. Zombies, if you manage to keep enough humans from reaching the chopper then you will win bragging rights for yourselves.
